Working in clay.

As an introduction to The Church and Remembrance in their History and Art cross curricular topic, the children have started to explore the symbolic significance of the poppy. Miss Smith and Mrs Kingston organised for Liz, a renowned local potter, to come into school to help the children make a range of beautiful poppy themed night-light holders all ready to use in their very special class assembly on Remembrance Day. The children developed a wide range of manipulative skills during the construction process and worked really hard to produce a poppy night-light holder ready to be glazed.
