Roman Battle Formations

We learnt about some different battle formations used in the Roman Army. We looked at: The Orb; The Repel Cavalry; The Wedge and The Tortoiseshell. It's amazing how inventive we can be with our books as shields.

We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Colchester Castle to learn all about Romans. It was a great start to our new topic.

We enjoyed a fantastic morning at Spains Hall Estate seeing the work the beavers have been up to, we even got to build our own dam. Thank you so much to Mr Ruggles-Brise for organising this fantastic experience.

What a fantastic end to our Ancient Egypt topic. We spent the day carrying out so many different things related to Egyptians. Thank you so much to the parent helpers, Mrs Mikkides and Miss Mitchell for all their help.

Our topic this term in science is animals including humans and Miss Mitchell led a fantastic lesson this week where the children had to draw around each other and then place and label the bones correctly. The classroom is now covered with extra bodies!

My favourite moment was seeing the labels 'ear' and 'other ear' on one of the bodies.

Our first day back

What a fantastic first day in Swift we have had. After a morning of admin and getting to know each other we explored all the Egyptian resources, built pyramids and ended the day with salt dough amulets that we are hoping to finish tomorrow.
Bring on the rest of the year!
