Miss Reis

Head Teacher - Swift Class (2 Days a week)

Miss Reis is our Swift Class (Year 3&4) teacher and our Head Teacher. She studied Chemistry and Maths at The University of Sheffield, before her PGCE in Portsmouth SCITT. She is very passionate about reading and phonics.

Mr Laing

Deputy Head Teacher - Eagle Class

Mr Laing is our Eagle Class (Year 5&6) teacher and our Deputy Head Teacher. He has been a teacher for over two decades. He has a particular interest in Maths and Sport. Mr. Laing always delivers exciting lessons, he is very skilled at making learning memorable and 'hands on'. We love his assemblies!  

Favourite film: Star Wars or The Breakfast Club or Three Colours Blue

Favourite book: Farmer Duck or The War of The Worlds or The Grapes Of Wrath.

Favourite food: Cheese Pizza, pepperoni pizza or buffalo mozzarella and pepperoni pizza.

Miss Swain

Class Teacher - Robin Class

Miss Swain is our Robin class (Reception) teacher and has a B.Sc. (hons) degree in Biochemistry and a P.G.C.E (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) from Cambridge University. Miss Swain really enjoys teaching and regularly gives children opportunities that are 'outside of the box'.

Miss Herbert

Class Teacher - Puffin Class

Miss Herbert is new to our team and teaches in Puffin Class (Years 1&2). She comes with a wealth of knowledge of schools and the Early Years from her time as a TA. She is always prepared for any lesson and her resources make each lesson more exiting.

Mrs Murrell

Class Teacher- Swift Class (3 Days a week)

Mrs Murrell currently teaches in Swift class. She joined Great Sampford in September 2008 and has been teaching for fourteen years in total. Mrs Murrell has a B.Sc. (hons) degree in Maths and Statistics from Anglia Ruskin University and a P.G.C.E (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) from Cambridge University.

Miss Mitchell

Higher Level Teaching Assistant- Eagle Class

Miss Mitchell is a Teaching Assistant in our Year 5/6 Class with Mr Laing and has been at Great Sampford since September 2006. Miss Mitchell has the Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification and so teaches across the school when needed.

Favourite food: Fish Fingers Sandwiches (with salad cream of course!)

Mrs Hale

Teaching Assistant - Puffin Class

Mrs Hale is a Teaching Assistant in Puffin Class with Miss Herbert and has been at Great Sampford since September 2001. She is also particularly interested in the outdoors and runs our Forest School provision. 

Favourite film: Any James Bond Movie 

Favourite book: The Complete Guide to Self Sufficiency (John Seymour)

Mrs Mikkides

Teaching Assistant - Swift Class

Mrs Mikkides is a Teaching Assistant in Swift Class with Miss Reis and Mrs Murrell. She enjoys working with all of the children and has a particular interest in phonics and reading. Mrs Mikkides encourages the children to keep going and has a particularly calming nature on the children.

Mrs Banning

Teaching Assistant - Robin Class

Mrs Banning is a Teaching Assistant in Robin Class with Miss Swain. She has joined our team with a wealth of knowledge about the Early Years. She is also helping with our Forest School provision. 

Favourite film: Parenthood, National Lampoon's Vacation or any silly film from the 80s.

Miss Lucking

Teaching Assistant - Swift Class

Miss Lucking is a Teaching Assistant in Swift Class. She did used to work in the kitchen but we managed to persuade her into the classroom where she works alongside many of our children and has a real understanding of how different children progress.

Mrs Bullock

Admin Officer

Mrs Bullock works in the school office. She will happily answer any questions about the school that supports our families and visitors.

Miss Moody

Admin Officer

Miss Moody is a new member of our team, but she has jumped both feet into the Sampford pool. She works hard in the office, sorting out the finances and many other things.

Favourite food: Scrambled eggs, Avocado with feta and chilli jam on sour dough ðŸ˜Š (or just egg on toast ðŸ˜Š)

Miss Berry

Catering Manager

Miss Berry is our wonderful chef in the kitchen. She manages to produce some of the most delicious food and cakes for all the children and staff at the school. She is always keen to try new things and loves making smiley faces with the tomato ketchup.

Miss Lister

Sport Coach

Miss Lister is our sports coach. She teaches us a range of different sports and games and helps us to keep active during our playtimes with fun and exciting activities.

Favourite food: Anything that involves CHICKEN

Peripatetic Music Teachers

Our music teachers offer guitar, piano, keyboard, drums, flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet lessons. Parents are welcome to contact the office for more information on these private music lessons.
